The IGP area for red wines is located in the border area of the regions of Navarra (7 municipalities) and Aragon (9 municipalities) in the north of Spain, along the river Queiles, which gives it its name. The river valley runs from the Moncayo massif in a northerly direction to the Ebro. The barren, stony soils consist of a calcareous subsoil. The red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Tinta, Graciano, Merlot and Tempranillo are permitted.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
