QgU

Abbreviation for 'quality wine of guaranteed origin'. This designation was introduced in Germany from 1994 for typical varietal wines of quality class QbA from certain wine-growing regions or sub-regions. However, it was hardly ever used and was also discontinued in 2007. See also under Germany and under Quality System.
