Cultivation area

Designation for the 13 largest geographically defined and origin-protected territorial units for wines in Germany. These are divided hierarchically into areas, large vineyards, individual vine yards and cadastral vineyards (Gewanne). In Austria, the term " Weinbaugebiet " is used instead of " Anbaugebiet ".
