Pizzutello Nero

The red grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Cornichon Noir, Cornichon Violet, Cornichon Violeta, Corniola Nera, Corniola Nera Sarda, Galte Nera, Galette Nera and Pizzutello Violetto. It is a presumably natural cross between Cornichon Noir (Olivette Noire) x Prune de Cazouls, which was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2013. It must not be confused with the parent variety because of partly identical synonyms. The vine is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
