Pittersberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Münster-Sarmsheim in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The vineyard, which faces southwest to south at an altitude of 110 to 210 metres above sea level with a slope of 10 to 65%, covers almost ten hectares of vineyards. It is protected from cold westerly winds by foothills in the middle and lower parts. The soil, which warms quickly, consists of grey Devonian slate and weathered rock with loess loam and, in part, stagnant clay. It has a low water storage capacity. The Adelseck, Göttelmann, Kruger-Rumpf and Pieroth vineyards, for example, have shares in the site.
