Description for the flavour and/or aroma of a wine in the context of a wine evaluation or wine talk. This has mushroomy, earthy, musty or mouldy tones. The term can only be interpreted correctly in context. To a lesser extent, depending on the type of wine, it can be meant neutrally (botrytis wines), but usually indicates wine defects such as cork taint, mousiness, horse sweat or mouldy taste.
