Montonico Pinto

The red grape variety (also Montonico Ciarchiarisi) originates from Italy. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2021, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Carricante x unknown parent variety. It used to be widespread in Sicily. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
