Montonico Pinto

The red grape variety (also Montonico Ciarchiarisi) originates from Italy. The parentage is unknown. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2010, the Carricante variety is a descendant. It was formerly widespread in Sicily. In 2016, no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
