Designation for the soft, rounded and full-bodied character of a wine in the context of a wine appeal. It is characterized by a certain thickness, so that one can literally "chew" it. In red wines, the tannin is rounded and the acidity is fully integrated. These wines usually have a high percentage of total extract and alcohol content and are characterised by corresponding church windows (in the so-called "pointed arch" style). Related terms are fat, fleshy, smooth, oily and tough.
