medical effect of alcohol

Alcoholic beverages, especially wine, are often attributed positive effects when consumed in moderation. However, this does not refer to the alcohol (ethanol), but rather only to certain ingredients such as resveratrol. References to positive medical effects are, however, expressly forbidden in the advertising of alcoholic beverages. Misleading designations in this regard such as diabetic wine, wine for the sick (health wine), natural wine or similar are also prohibited. The calculation of the alcohol level is explained in detail under blood alcohol concentration (BAC). A frequently asked question is which regularly consumed amounts of alcohol are acceptable from the point of view of health or presumably not harmful to health. This problem area is described in detail under Health. See also under alcohol content, alcoholism, allergy, alcohol prohibition, fortification, hangover, prohibition and intoxication.
