The winery is located in the municipality of Nierstein (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The Guntrum family has been growing grapes since 1648. In 1923, Louis Jean George Guntrum, the 8th generation, built the present estate house directly on the Rhine. Today, Louis Konstantin Guntrum is the 11th generation to run the estate, which is still owned by the family. He is also the sole shareholder and managing director of Louis Guntrum Weinkellerei GmbH, which sells wines in over 60 countries worldwide. The cellar master is Rüdiger Steck. The vineyards cover ten hectares in the Bergkirche, Hipping, Ölberg, Orbel, Paterberg and Pettenthal (Nierstein), as well as Herrenberg, Kreuz and Sackträger (Oppenheim).
