The winery is located in the municipality of Deutsch-Schützen in the Austrian DAC area Eisenberg. The family business is managed by Manfred and Edith Kopfensteiner, as well as son Thomas and his wife Astrid in the third generation. The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vines in Deutsch-Schützen and at Eisenberg in the Bründlgfangen, Szápari and Weinberg areas. They are 95% planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch (60%), Merlot, Zweigelt, Blauburger and Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% with Welschriesling. We practice natural, environmentally friendly viticulture. Quality criteria are exact thinning out, defoliation of the grape zone and physiological grape ripeness. In the cellar, the principle applies that "deficits in the grape material cannot be made up for, either through over-motivated work input or through so-called new cellar technologies". The flagship of the house is the red wine cuvée "Border" (Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon), aged in new French barriques. Other premium wines are various Blaufränkisch. Fine brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Weinidylle Südburgenland.
