The white grape variety originates from Greece. Synonyms are Caristiano Rouge, Charistina, Karistiana, Karistiana Rouge, Karistiana Vert, Karistino and Sgarraparete. The parentage is unknown. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is (possibly) a parent of the Savatiano variety. The vine has red-coloured berries and is used as a wine grape variety and table grape. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
