Jägerberg

Vineyard or site in the municipality of Gamlitz in the Austrian wine-growing region of Südsteiermark ( Styria). It is a sub-vineyard of the Kranachberg. It is classified as a "Erste STK Lage" (see details under Styrian Terroir & Classic Wine Estates). The vineyards are 350 metres above sea level and face south. The soils have a sandy-loamy structure with limestone content. They are therefore particularly suitable for Pinot varieties (see under Pinot) such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Morillon (Chardonnay) and lend the wines a floral fruitiness and mineral structure. The wineries Sabathi Erwin, Sabathi Hannes, Schilhan Wilfried and Skoff Peter, for example, have shares in the Jägerberg vineyard.
