Jägerberg

Reed or vineyard site in the municipality of Gamlitz in the Austrian wine-growing region of Southern Styria (Region of Styria). It is a subriede of the Kranachberg. It is classified as "Erste STK Lage" (see in detail under Styrian Terroir & Classic Wineries). The vineyards are situated at 350 meters above sea level and face south. The soils have a sandy-clayey structure with lime content. They are therefore particularly suitable for Burgundy varieties (see under Pinot) such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Morillon (Chardonnay) and give the wines a floral fruitiness and mineral structure. Shares of the Jägerberg are held, for example, by the Sabathi Erwin, Sabathi Hannes, Schilhan Wilfried and Skoff Peter vineyards.
