The interest group of wineries in Styria (Austria) emerged as the successor to the "Steirische Klassik-Winzer" group founded in 1986, which coined the term "Steirische Klassik" for fresh and fruity white wines made from typical Styrian grape varieties from 1993 onwards. The name STK® is protected for the member wineries Frauwallner Walter, Lackner-Tinnacher, Maitz Wolfgang, Neumeister, Polz Erich & Walter, Sabathi Erwin, Sabathi Hannes, Sattlerhof, Tement Manfred, Weingut Gross, Winkler-Hermaden and Wohlmuth Gerhard.
