The name of an oversized bottle for still wine in Bordeaux with a volume of six litres or the contents of eight standard 0.75-litre bottles. In Champagne, however, this bottle size for champagne is called Methuselah. However, the name is not origin-protected, but can be used freely for sparkling wines or wines. See lists under Bottles (all formats) and Wine vessels (all types, from antiquity to the present day).
