The winery is located in the municipality of Venosa (Potenza province) in the Italian region of Basilicata. It was founded in 2004 by Fabrizio and Cecilia Piccin and today it is run together with their sons Lorenzo and Andrea. The wine cellar was built in the middle of the fertile Vulture area, named after an extinct volcano that shaped the whole area. It was built according to ecologically sustainable criteria of bio-architecture with a system of natural cooling. The vineyards cover 16 hectares, no grapes are purchased or only our own are processed. They are planted 100% with the Aglianico variety.

The cultivation in the vineyard and the work in the cellar are carried out according to criteria of organic viticulture. The fermentation is carried out spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts. The product range includes various DOC wines Aglianico del Vulture. The maturing time of the wines varies with each vintage, a small part matures in steel, the larger in small wooden barrels (barrique and tonneau). In principle, however, no new barrels are used. Premium wines include wines from vineyards with very old stocks. The "Damaschito - Aglianico del Vulture" comes from grapes from a single vineyard, the "Maschito" with 60 year old vines. The "Daginestra - Aglianico del Vulture" comes from 70-year-old vines of the "Ginestra" vineyard; it also matures for 18 to 24 months but in small wood. In the case of the "Grifalco - Aglianico del Vulture", named after the winery, the maturing time also varies according to the vintage; a small part is in steel, the larger in small, used wood. About 75,000 to 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. 95% of this goes to export, the most important market being the United States of America.
