The "Bioweingut Schmidl" is located in the municipality of Dürnstein in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. A wine tavern is attached. The winery is run by Theresa Harm (née Schmidl). The vineyards cover eight hectares in the Achleiten, Frauenweingarten, Hollerin (Hollstoand'l), Kaiserberg, Kellerberg (Subrieden Küss den Pfennig and Wunderburg), Oberhauser, Rothenberg, Schlossberg and Supperin vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Gelber Muskateller. The vineyards were converted to organic viticulture in 2009. Certification and control is carried out by the organic control body Austria Bio Garantie. The first organic wines were bottled with the 2012 vintage. The fermentation of the wines is partly spontaneous. Premium wines are various Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings according to the guidelines of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus. Organic apricots from our own cultivation are also offered.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
