The winery is located in the municipality of Rüdesheim in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. It is managed by Fred Strieth. The "Germania" country inn is attached. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vines in the Frankenthal, Hinterkirch and Höllenberg (Assmannshausen), as well as Berg Schlossberg (Rüdesheim) sites. They are planted with the varieties Riesling and Pinot Noir. Natural viticulture is practised with short pruning and thinning out (green harvest) at the beginning of grape ripeness. The white wines are fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks after gentle whole bunch pressing. The red wines are macerated in 900-litre containers. They are then matured in classic large wooden bar rels or in barrique barrels for 12 to 18 months, depending on the quality.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
