Château Potensac

The winery is located in the municipality of Ordonnac in the Médoc (Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux). In the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid, it was formerly classified as "Cru Bourgeois" and most recently in 2003 even as "Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel". It has been owned by the Delon family for over 250 years, who also own Château Léoville-Las-Cases. Today it is managed by Jean-Hubert Delon. The vineyards cover 57 hectares and are planted with the varieties Cabernet-Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 12 to 16 months in 20% new barriques. The second wine is called "La Chapelle de Potensac".
