Booze

Derogatory term (Latin fusilis = liquid) for inferior alcoholic beverages such as wine and schnapps. This applies specifically to spirits that have been produced in an unprofessional manner, such as too long distillation with primitive equipment using questionable processes. It is derived from fusel oils, which are often found in large quantities in low-quality alcoholic beverages and are severely toxic in extreme cases. Colloquially, the term "Sprit" is also used for a Fuselschnaps. See also a list under special wines.
