The "C.H. Berres" winery is located in the municipality of Ürzig ( Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The family tree can be traced back to 1510. With the 2004 vintage, Alfred Berres handed over responsibility for wine production to his son Markus Berres, the 21st generation of the family. He studied viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim and graduated with a degree in viticulture (FH). During his studies, he spent a semester abroad at the Chardfarm winery in New Zealand.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Goldwingert and Würzgarten (Ürzig), Herrenberg and Treppchen (Erden), Hubertuslay (Kinheim), Klosterberg (Wehlen) and Himmelreich (Zeltingen). They are 90% planted with Riesling and 10% with Pinot Blanc.

If I were to rate websites, you would deserve the highest rating. It is rare to come across websites that provide such a large amount of data and are still so intuitive to use. Respect for the lovingly researched and informatively prepared encyclopedia. Keep it up!
