The red grape variety comes from Spain. Synonyms are Tinta Femia and Tinta Femia de Aldan. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. According to DNA analyses carried out by Javier Ibáñez in 2012, a probably natural cross between Albillo Mayor x Benedicto gave rise to the variety Tempranillo. In 2010, no stocks of the variety were reported (Kym Anderson).
