The white grape variety comes from Italy. Synonyms are Barbarossa a Feuille Decoupées, Barbarossa a Foglie Incise, Barbarossa del Piemonte, Barbarossa di Conegliano, Barbarossa di Favora, Barbarossa du Piemont, Barbarossa Ovale, Barbarossa Piemontese, Barbarossa Piemontese Rossa, Greca Rossa, Regina Rossa, Rousselet and Uva Reina. It must not be confused with the variety Barbarossa di Finalborgo, with partly identical synonyms. The origin (parentage) of the red berry vine is unknown. Nothing is known about possible relations to one of the many Barbarossa varieties. It is mainly used as a table grape. In 2016 no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
