The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Barbarossa a Feuille Decoupées, Barbarossa a Foglie Incise, Barbarossa del Piemonte, Barbarossa di Conegliano, Barbarossa di Favora, Barbarossa du Piemont, Barbarossa Ovale, Barbarossa Piemontese, Barbarossa Piemontese Rossa, Greca Rossa, Regina Rossa, Rousselet and Uva Reina. Nothing is known about possible relations to one of the many Barbarossa varieties either. It is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
