Bacchus Black

The red grape variety is an open flowered seedling of the American Clinton vine. Thus, at least genes of Vitis riparia x Vitis labrusca are contained. The selection of the hybrids was made in 1879 by the private breeder J. H. Ricketts. In 2016 no stock was reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
