Trousseau Gris

The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Béquignol Rosé, Chauche Gris, Gray Riesling, Grey Riesling, Gris de Salces and Terret d'Afrique. It is a somatic mutation with grey berries of the red variety Trousseau Noir. Nothing is known about a possible relationship to the Ondenc variety (with the synonym Trousseau Gris). The early-ripening vine is susceptible to botrytis (severe), cicada infestation and wood diseases. It produces full-bodied white wines with a light colour. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
