In the New World, yield is often measured or expressed in "tons/acre" or "tons/hectare" (ton = ton). Of course, this cannot be converted exactly into the "hectolitre/hectare" that is usually used in Europe, but 0.7 litres of must per kilogramme of grapes is an approximate value. 1 ton/acre results in just under 2.5 t/ha. See also under acre and hectare as well as area measurements.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
