small wooden barrel

Colloquial term (also small barrel, small wood, small oak barrel, small oak barrel) without any legal significance for wine, usually a barrique barrel with a volume of 225 litres, although this can also include up to around 350 litres. However, the term is not unambiguous, as it does not necessarily have to be a barrique barrel. Traditional wooden barrels of various sizes are colloquially referred to as large wooden barrels.
