DOC area for red wines in the Italian Marche region. The zone includes the entire eponymous municipality of Serrapetrona and parts of the municipalities of Belforte del Chienti and San Severino in the province of Macerata. The red wine must be made from a minimum of 85% Vernaccia Nera(Garnacha Tinta) and a maximum of 15% authorised varieties. There is also a DOCG wine Vernaccia di Serrapetrona for a spumante of this variety.
