From the 2017 vintage onwards, the origin-controlled quality level DAC (Districtus Austriae Controllatus) has been introduced in the Austrian wine-growing region of Styria. The DAC area Schilcherland included the entire wine-growing region of Western Styria and the cadastral municipality of Obergreith (municipality of Oberhaag in the district of Leibnitz) in the wine-growing region of Southern Styria. It applied to the wines which had been produced there for a long time and were called Schilcher. However, the DAC area was closed down again in 2018 and replaced by the DAC area of Western Styria.
The wein.plus encyclopaedia is a comprehensive, well-researched reference work. Available anytime and anywhere, it has become an indispensable part of teaching, used by students and myself alike. Highly recommended!
