The winery is located in the municipality of Oestrich-Winkel in the German Rheingau
wine growing region. It is managed by Peter Querbach. A guest house with ten double rooms is attached. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards in the locations Doosberg
(Hallgarten), as well as Hasensprung
(Winkel). They are mainly planted with Riesling (9.7 hectares), the rest with Pinot Noir. The fermentation takes place spontaneously
with natural yeasts, then the wines are aged in stainless steel and mature for a relatively long time on the fine yeast
. They are marketed in the lines Schoppen, Riesling sur lie, Edition, Ortsriesling, Q1 site wines (Premier Cru) and Milestone (Grand Cru, with up to 20 years ageing potential). All dry estate wines are vinified in the Charta Rheingau
style. Since the 1999 vintage, the bottles have been sealed with a StainlessCap (stainless steel crown cap) specially developed by Peter Querbach. In addition, bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
