The winery is located in the municipality of La Morra (province of Cuneo) in the Italian region of Piedmont. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Luigi Oberto and is now managed by his grandchildren Luigi and Federico Oberto. Adjacent to the old wine cellar, a medieval outpost (tower) stretches upwards, which gave the area the name Torriglione (great tower). The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vineyards planted with the red varieties Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, and the white Arneis. Of these, 40% are our own stock, the remaining 60% are purchased. The wide range of products includes various DOC and DOCG wines, namely Barbaresco, Barolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Roero. The flagship of the house is the Barolo "Torriglione". Around 90,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 40% of which are exported to Austria, France and Switzerland.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
