Maximiner Herrenberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Longuich (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The southwest-facing vineyards with slopes of up to 60% cover 12 hectares of vineyards on deep slate weathered soil with a high proportion of fine earth. Riesling is the main grape grown here. The Carl Loewen, Clüsserath-Hilt, Eifel Bernhard, Römerhof and Schmitt Heinz wineries, for example, have shares in the site. Above them lies the Herrenberg single vineyard (the two Herrenberg vineyards sometimes lead to confusion).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
