Mash truck

Name (also harvest wagon) for a tractor-drawn wagon into which the containers with the harvested grapes are emptied. They come in a wide variety of versions, including one with an attached destemmer (Rebler) for the purpose of removing the grape skeleton (Rappen). The full load is then transported to the pressing house, where pressing usually takes place as quickly as possible. Some winegrowers carry out the pressing already in the vineyard by means of a field press. See also under grape harvest and vineyard care.
