The series of events has been organised annually since 1995 by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Agriculture and Viticulture. The objective is to link the two cultural areas of film art and winemaking in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 2010, it has been coordinated by the "Kino Büro Rheinland-Pfalz" in partnership with a regional wine promotion organisation. The series is an integral part of Rhineland-Palatinate's wine marketing and at the same time a contribution to keeping cinemas in the state's rural areas attractive and presenting the products of the winegrowing enterprises to an interested young audience. The wines submitted will be blind tasted and evaluated with the participation of media partners such as a trade magazine, a radio station, the DWI, city magazine, the ministry and a wine queen of the state. The winning wines will be handed out during the cinema events. Cinema-goers receive a voucher for a KINO VINO glass of wine, sparkling wine or grape juice with their ticket.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
