In 1964 Peter Margaritoff founded the company "Hanseatische Wein- und Sekt-Kontor", which was then continued by his son Alexander Margaritoff from 1981 onwards (at that time the turnover was 10 million DM). Subsequently, many companies from the wine & spirits industry were either taken over to a larger extent or joint ventures were entered into (see complete list below). Some of these are still managed by the previous owners, but work closely together in accordance with the "Corporate Governance Code" of Hawesko Holding AG.
The Hawesko Group is Germany's largest trading house for high-quality wines, champagnes and spirits and one of the most important and largest wine suppliers in the world. The company is divided into three segments: e-commerce (Internet trade), retail (retail trade) and B2B (business-to-business). It bundles entrepreneurially managed premium wine retail brands, each with its own clear profile and established market position. There are 18 brands in total. Through its B2B relationships, the Hawesko Group holds exclusive distribution rights for many leading top segment wines from well-known wineries around the world.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
