Grober Heunisch

The white grape variety probably comes from Austria. Synonyms are Bose Hinschen, Chenois, Raisins Blancs à Petits Grains, Smotika and Striegler. It is mentioned in the VIVC catalogue as an independent variety, but no parentage (parenthood) is given. It is possible that there is a relationship with the variety Kernloser Heunisch (synonym Chenois). However, the variety has no commercial significance; in 2016 no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson). See a list of the different varieties of the Heunisch group under Gouais Blanc.
