One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. It was already mentioned in the 11th century. The vineyards cover 58 hectares of vines on lime-clay soil in the commune of Eguisheim. They are mainly planted with Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. Well-known producers are Charles Baur, Léon, Beyer, Paul Ginglinger, Albert Hertz, Kuentz-Bas, André Scherer, Paul Scherer, Gèrard Schueller and Wolfberger. See also under Eichberg in Germany.
