Dorli Muhr

Producer description of "Weingut Dorli Muhr" Wine offers for "Dorli Muhr" in find+buy

The winery is located on the Spitzerberg, in the municipality of Prellenkirchen in the Carnuntum wine-growing region (Lower Austria). In its original form, the business was founded jointly by Dorli Muhr and Dirk Niepoort. In 2017, Dorli Muhr acquired the 50% share of her former partner. Since then, the winery has operated under the name "Dorli Muhr". Oenologist Lukas Brandstätter is responsible for the technical aspects of the cellar.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vines on the Spitzerberg. The extremely wind-exposed vineyards on pure limestone are characterised by dryness and low yields. The heart of the estate is a small revitalised parcel of 0.17 hectares on the Ried Roterd on the middle slope of the Spitzerberg, which Katharina Muhr (grandmother of the owner) received as a wedding present in 1918. The plot was replanted in the 1990s and has been expanded ever since. Great importance was attached to old vines.
