Abbreviation for a new wine designation for quality wine that has been valid for all member countries since August 2009 due to the EU wine market regulation (see also under quality system):

  • Italy: Denominazione di Origine Protetta (old or alternative designation DOC, DOCG)
  • Portugal: Denominação de Origem Protegida (old or alternative designation DOC)
  • Spain: Denominación de Origen Protegida (old or alternative designation DO, DOCa)
