Special wine-growing area located in the municipality of Malpica de Tajo in the province of Toledo in the Spanish region of La Mancha (Castile-La Mancha) It was classified in 2003 as the highest Spanish wine quality level Vino de Pago. The vineyards cover 52 hectares of vines at an altitude of around 500 metres above sea level on clay and limestone soils. The red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and the native Graciano are cultivated. The area is entirely owned by Marqués de Griñón.
