The winery is located in the municipality of Oía Baxes on the island of Thira in the Aegean archipelago of Santorini. It was founded in 1991 by Paris Sigalas, Christos Markozane and Yiannis Toundas. The winery in Oía Baxes was put into operation in 1998. In 2003, Alexander Avataggelos acquired a stake in the company and it was given its current name. Subsequently, major investments were made in new technology and modernisation of production. Paris Sigalas, one of Greece's best-known winemakers, is the managing director. The vineyards cover 19 hectares of vines (13 of which are owned), planted with the white wine varieties Assyrtiko, Athiri Aspro and Aïdani Aspro, as well as the red wine varieties Mandilaria and Mavrotragano. Natural viticulture is practised according to ecological guidelines.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
