The winery is located in the Trier district of Olewig (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine growing region. A wine bar is attached. The business is run by Albert and Marianne Oberbillig, the fifth generation of the family. After his studies in Geisenheim, son Sebastian is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards comprise nine hectares of vineyards in the locations Burgberg, the eponymous Deutschherrenberg, Deutschherrenköpfchen and Jesuitenwingert (Trier). They are mainly planted with Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated strictly according to the rules of integrated viticulture. Insecticides and copper preparations as well as herbicides are completely avoided. The aim is to produce wines that are as natural as possible, fermented partly spontaneously and partly with pure yeasts. The few wooden barrels are reserved for the Burgundy wines, the Rieslings are aged exclusively in stainless steel. In suitable years an ice wine is also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (wine, marc, mirabelle, williams) and liqueurs (peach) are also produced.
