Delinat method

In 1980, Karl Schefer founded Delica-Natura, the first company in Switzerland to specialise purely in the organic wine trade. Delica-Natura became today's Delinat AG in 1983. In 1991, the company expanded to include the subsidiary Delinat GmbH, based in Weil am Rhein and specialising in the German market. All wines in the range must at least comply with EU or Swiss organic guidelines. The first version of the company's own guidelines for organic viticulture was drawn up back in 1983 in co-operation with organic wine experts.

To ensure that these minimum standards are met, every winery and every wine must undergo an annual inspection by an accredited inspection body. It is also possible to be certified according to the Delinat guidelines. These are stricter than the state regulations in key points relating to pesticides, fertilisers, biodiversity and approved oenological processes.
