Delicato Family Wines

The California-based wine multinational is owned by the Indelicato family and is one of the largest, fastest-growing wine companies in the US. The company was founded in 1924 by Gaspare Indelicato, an immigrant from Sicily, and the first vineyard was planted in Manteca. The growth is illustrated by the wine production, which increased from 15,000 annually in 1940, 74,000 in 1955 and 403,000 gallons (3.8 litres) in 1964 to 16 million cases of wine annually today. Today, Delicato Family Wines is the fifth largest winery in America and the third largest exporter of branded wine from the United States. Jay Indelicato serves as Chief Operating Officer. The "Board of Directors" includes family members as well as director Francis Ford Coppola and Michael Mondavi of the famous Californian family.
