Coniella diplodiella

This fungus (also Coniothyrium diplodiella) causes white rot in vines; see there.

A vine disease (also known as spot necrosis or corrosion rot) of the wood. It is caused by the fungus Coniella diplodiella at high humidity and high temperatures (the fungus is inactive below 15 °C), especially in the hot summer months. The lignin responsible for the wood structure is decomposed and stability is impaired. The fungus survives for several years on plant debris in the soil and is whirled up onto the shoots and leaves by hailstones (hence hail disease).
