Champagne tongs

Special device for opening a champagne bottle or a bottle of sparkling wine sealed with a cork. First remove the agraffe. Then place the pliers around the cork and carefully loosen it. Now place a cloth napkin around the neck of the bottle and slowly twist the cork out with the pliers or by hand. The napkin serves as protection against any foaming over. A spectacular form is sabering (champagne topping). To open bottles, see also corkscrew, port tongs and wine tongs.
