Cargarello

The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Bottaio Bianco, Cacciumo, Cacinello, Canailo Bianco, Canajola, Canina, Cannia, Cargarèl, Caricarello, Drupeggio, Lupeccio, Promaticca, Trupeccio, Uva dei Cani, Uva Vecchia Bianca and Volpicchio. The parentage is unknown. The medium-maturing, high-yielding vine is susceptible to Botrytis. It is mainly cultivated in small quantities in the Valle del Conca near Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region. There are also a few vines in the dwarf republic of San Marino. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
