The white grape variety originates from the Moldova/Romania border region. Synonyms are Cabasma, Cabasma Belaia, Durleasca, Kabasma, Kabasma Belaia, Kabasma Belaja, Kabasma Belaya, Poamă Bătută Albă, Pomă Bătută Albă, Pomă Betută Albă, Sghigardă Albă, Sghigardă de Gus and Sghigardă Galbenă The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. It must not be confused with the varieties Berbecel, Galbenăde Odobești or Zghihară de Husi due to morphological similarities or apparently indicative synonyms. Whether there is a relationship to the red variety Bătută Neagră (Cabasma Neagrâ) is not known. In 2016 no stock was recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
