The winery is located in the municipality of Höflein in Lower Austria. It is run by Jörg Bretz, who, after completing his apprenticeship as a winegrower in Franconia and studying to become a graduate engineer in viticulture and cellar management in Geisenheim, gained practical experience in Germany (Künstler, Schönborn Castle, Reinhartshausen Castle, Margrave of Baden), Switzerland, South Tyrol, Tuscany, Austria (Bründlmayer, Heinrich) and South Africa (Kaapzicht Estate). The business initially began with the purchase of grapes and wines from the Neusiedlersee wine-growing region in Burgenland. Since the 2005 vintage, grapes from their own vineyards in the Carnuntum wine-growing region in Lower Austria have also been processed.
