The white grape variety comes from France. Synonyms are Coe de Bacco, Coe de Baque, Coer de Bacco, Cruchinette, Groubaou, Palougue, Palouguet, Pedauque and Queue de Vache. In 2007, DNA analyses showed a close relationship with the Claverie, Crouchen and Graisse varieties. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. The variety is cultivated in small quantities in southwest France. In 2016, however, no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson).
